    percentages

    A salesman of a company gets 12% commission on the sales up to $ 500 and he gets 20% commission on the further sales amount on that day. If the salesman's total commission is $380 on that day, then how much amount did he sell on that day?


    i got answer has 2100 is it correct

    i got answer has 2100 is it correct
    it is correct

    500(.12)+(x-500)(.2)=380

    \frac{500(12)}{100}+\frac{20(x-500)}{100}=380

    600+2x-1000=3800

    2x=4200\Rightarrow x=2100
