Thread: Is this the correct corresponding linear equation?

1. (-1) = (-1)(-6) + b

(-1) = (6) + b

(-7) = b

y = -1x + -7

From the equation : (-1) = (-1)(-6) + b, yes the value of b is (-7). But I don't know what y = -1x + -7 is.

It's true that y = -1x + -7 = - x - 7 is linear equation, but I don't know if your answer is right or wrong. Maybe you can post the whole question ?

Btw, (+ -7) is very ugly notation....

I think this is correct. My teacher was being a pest and stated that I showed the slope/y - intercept format, but not the linear equation. That wasn't even listed in the actual question. I hate it when teachers do this stuff
