If I am asked a question such as Find the slope of $\displaystyle y = x^2+1 $ at points (1,2) Am i correct in using the $\displaystyle y = mx+c $ Formula. So I would say $\displaystyle y = \frac{1}{1} + 1 $ So the slope is 1?
