Could you please explain me that how many significant digits in 1.01 ?

This makes me confused. There are several rules I found in this article but, I couldn't understand whether there are two or three significant digits.

Please clarify this doubt!

It has three significant digits. There is an algorithm for determining the number of significant digits here.
