A bed room of size 25x40 m is covered with a carpet which costs $140 . How much is 1 m of the carpet with width 18 m ? 140/(25x40)=0.14 ... This is the cost of 1x1 m of the carpet . Then 18x1 of the carpet will be 0.14x18=2.52 Am i correct ?

25 x 40 metres = 1000 square metres 1000 square metres = $140 1 square metre = $0.14 same answer as you 1 metre of carpet with width 18 m = 18 square metres 18 x $0.14 = $2.52 same answer as you I believe your working to be correct

I don't know where you live but in Germany there isn't a bed-room of 1000 mē (nearly 2 tennis courts). Could it be that there are some decimal points missing and the bed-room has the demensions . In this case you don't need a compass to find your bed.
