    Exclamation Question on square metres?

    Tina wants to buy some pool tiles. Bob is selling some with each sheet measuring 49cm x 31cm. Each sheet has 228 squares (19 x 12 squares) and each single tile measures 25mm x 25mm. There are 97 sheets in total.

    How many square metres does Bob have?
    Tina needs 120 square metres, is there enough?

    1. 49 cm = 0.49 m ....... and ....... 31 cm = 0.31 m.

    Therefore: The area of one sheet is: a_{sheet} = 0.49 \cdot 0.31 = 0.1519\ m^2

    2. There are 97 sheets. Thus the total area is: a_{total} = 97 \cdot  0.1519\ m^2 = 14.7343 \ m^2

    3. To cover an area of 120 mē you need:

    n=\dfrac{120\ m^2}{0.1519\ m^2 } \approx 790 \ sheets
