Thirty-six elves were working very late on December 23, so they decided to have a late nite snack Aunt Bee's fabulous fruit pies. They sliced each pie into 6 slices and each elf ate 4 slices. How much did the snack cost? Each pie cost $2.89 each. 2.89 x36 2. 2.89
x36
Ok, each elf ate four slices of pie -- so how many slices did they eat in total?
$4*36=144$
So how many pies total is that if each pie was divided into six slices?
$144/6=24$
And if each pie costs \$2.89 then the total cost is:
$24*\2.89=\69.36$

my 10 year old daughter has this wording problem;

A square bulletin board is 24 inches on each side. if there is a
picture of a soccer ball every 8 inches along the edge, including one in
each corner, how many soccer balls are on the bulletin board?

please also show a chart with the soccerball.

Don't post new questions into unrelated existing threads, create a new thread for them.

As far as I can tell the board looks like the figure in the attachment,
so there are 12 balls.
