1. ## Need help with algebraic fraction problem.

I was wondering if you could help me with a algebraic fraction problem. I do online school, and I'm having difficulty understanding my teachers explanation. Basically he gives partial answers and I need it broken down and explained to me. This is one of the problems...
a^4/ 2a^2-4a^4 times 8a^3+1/ 2a+4a^2

Thank you very much for your time and consideration!!

2. $\frac{a^4}{2a^2-4a^4}*\frac{8a^3+1}{2a+4a^2}$

= $\frac{a^4}{2a^2(1-2a^2)}*\frac{(1+2a)(1-2a+4a^2)}{2a(1+2a)}$

= $\frac{a(1-2a+4a^2)}{4(1-2a^2)}$

3. This problem was one of a bunch that you asked about two weeks ago in this thread: http://www.mathhelpforum.com/math-he...ions-help.html. I remember solving this for you back then.

The type of problems you repeatedly post here indicate that you need to do a lot of in depth review on the fundamentals of factoring and simplifying. The author linked to below is a good teacher. She does an excellent job of "breaking it down and explaining it to you":
Factoring Numbers
Least Common Multiple (LCM) or Greatest Common Factor (GCF)
Simplifying with Parentheses
Polynomial Multiplication
Simple Polynomial Factoring
Simplifying Expressions with Exponents
Polynomial Division
