Need Help Simplifying an Equation...

y= -2(x/2)^2 - 15(x/2) - 22

I'm having problems with an assignment question because I can't remember how to do this one step... its been awhile since I took math.

Thanks.

From $y=-2(\frac{x}{2})^2 - 15(\frac{x}{2})-22,$ perform the squaring and rewrite as

$y=-\frac{2x^2}{4}-\frac{15x}{2}-22,$ express in common denominator as

$y=\frac{-x^2-15x-44}{2}$ and clean up the signs to get

$y=-\frac{1}{2}(x^2+15x+44)$

$y = -\frac{1}{2}(x+4)(x+11)$
