1. ## Heres one i cant work out.

ok i gave it a go but i know its not right.

i have 47.25kilo of bait and it costs £54.75. how much would each kilo of bait cost?

here how i know what i got ended up with is wrong. got this from the bait website:

33.75kg of bait and it costs £47.82 so each kilo costs £4.85. i tried working this out but i ended up with a differnt answer.

its the first one i want working out please :] also if you do work it out could you tell me how?

Well, this is a division problem. You've got to divide 54.75 into 47.25 pieces.

so $\frac{54.75}{47.25}\approx{1.16}$

Also keep im mind that the best way to get an approximate guess is to round off the numbers before you divide.

55/50=11/10=1.10

3. hi yeah i did that but when i tried it on the....33.75kg of bait and it costs £47.82 so each kilo costs £4.85. it came out 1.41 so that cant be right?

That's right. Why do you think that it's not?

1.42 is actually a better estimate though.

5. omg im so dumb. i didnt take into account that the price was different on the second one because the company charged extra for making it themselves haha

thanks
