# Math Help - Hourly rate.

1. ## Hourly rate.

Bob had a job cleaning the park. He was to be paid $60 when the work was done. If Bob works very fast he will be done quickly and his hourly rate will be high - but the opposite if he worked slowly, his hourly rate would be lower. Either way the Parks will pay him$60.00 Complete this table for Bobs different hourly rates worked.

2. t times r is always 60. For each column that has only one number, divide 60 by that number to find the missing number:

Code:
Time, t (h)          1   2   5   10   15   24   30   60
Hourly rate, r ($) 60 30 12 6 4 2.5 2 1 01 3. For the third column:$60 / 5hr = $12/hr For the fourth column, let x be the time in hours. Then 60/x = 6 -----> x = 60/6 = 10 10 hours Same thing for the fifth column. Let x be the time in hours. Then 60/x = 4 -----> x = 60/4 = 15 15 hours For the sixth column:$60 / 24hr = $2.5/hr For the seventh column:$60 / 24hr = $2/hr Last column:$1 / hr
