Something like this:

2(a+b)^2

3. $(a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2
$

so $2(a+b)^2 = 2(a^2 + 2ab + b^2) = 2a^2 + 4ab + 2b^2$

this is not expanding, this is enlarging ...

expanding is something like

$2\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ (a\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ +\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ b)^2$

6. I think the posted question has been satisfactorily answered somewhere in this thread ...... So before it starts resembling something from the Chat Room ..... Thread Closed.
