    Fraction word problem...I need help!

Imagination Ink supplies different colored inks for highlighter pens. Vat 1 has yellow ink, holds 150 gallons and is 4/5 full. Vat 2 has green ink, holds 50 gallons, and is 5/8 full. One gallon of ink will fill 1,200 pens. How many pens can be filled with the existing ink in Vat 1 and Vat 2?

My teacher gave the answer and it is 181,500 pens. I just don't understand how he got that answer. Can someone help me please?
    Thanks in advance!

    Vat 1 has \tfrac45 of 150 gallons = 120 gallons.

    Vat 2 has \tfrac58 of 50 gallons = 31.25 gallons

    So the total volume is 120 + 31.25 gallons = 151.25 gallons

Each gallon will fill 1200 pens. So the total number of pens is 151.25 \times 1200 = 181500 pens

    ok
    you have
    Vat1:150 gallons 4/5 full
    Vat2:50 gallons 5/8 full

each gallon fill 1200 pen so if I ask you 150 gallon how many pen produce ??
    (1200)(150) right.... but what ??
4/5 is full from the pens produced so
    4/5(1200)(150) right??

it is the same for the other Vat do the same thing then find the sum of the produced pen from two Vat try it I try and I find the answer
