Why does have a value of . I keep rearranging it incorrectly to get p as -17.

2p-(12-p)=(4p-5)-2p

2p - 12 - (-p) = 4p -5 -2p

2p - 12 +p = 4p -5 -2p

2p + p -12 = 4p -2p -5

3p - 12 = 2p - 5

3p - 2p - 12 = -5

1p = 7

p = 7
