Nah, you're not dumb ! You need practice, that's all :)

Note that x cannot be 0 or 5.

Then multiply both sides by x(x-5) :

x-5=x

--> -5=0

so it has no solution.

why did you think it was a quadratic ?

Edit : wrap your equation in the math tags :
