Annual Sales
An employee is paid a salary of \$300 per month and earns a 6 percent commission on all her sales. What must her annual sales be in order for her to have a gross annual salary of exactly of \$21,600?

I divided 21,600 by 300 to get 72 sales. Is this correct? Do I need to apply 6%? If so, then how?

300*12months + 6% of how much she has sold = 21,600

The 300 dollars is her base pay. When they're talking about how much she sold, that's her commission. Add 'em up, and that's how much she made for the year.

$12(300)+.06x=21,600$

You do the math. (Wink)

By the way, you gave it a good try. I admire that. Peace out!
