Remainder Factor Theorum
I missed a few days in my math class last week, and apparently missed some important stuff. My teacher was giving lessons over the Remainder Factor Theorum and Descartes' Rule of Signs. However, she didn't give me any notes over this stuff. If anybody could help me understand how to do it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!!!

Hi Not_A_Math_Wiz,

Here's a place to start:

The Remainder Theorem

The Factor Theorem

Descartes' Rule of Signs

If f(x) is a polynomial, then the remainder obtained by dividing f(x) by x-r equals f(r).

Determine remainder f(r) by replacing x in f(x) with r. Remainder theorem extends to the factor theorem in as much as if f(r) = 0 then x-r is a factor of f(x).

I hope this helps
