Put in the relevant value of x into your equation and see what comes out.

Note that a negative squared is a positive so f(2) = f(-2). Also note that you should square before taking the minus sign

For example with x=-2

x = -2
y = -(-2)^2 + 2 = -2

(x,y) = -2, -2

With x=2

x = 2
y = - (2^2) + 2 = -2
(x,y) = 2, -2
