    Take the fourth root of both sides

    r = (\frac{1296}{625})^{0.25}

    Your calculator should have a power button where you can put in 0.25 or a nth root button where you can take the 4th root.

    Google also has a calculator: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...f&oq=]click me

    it turns out to be a rational 1.2
