Multiply the equaiton by $\displaystyle 3^x$ to get $\displaystyle (3^x)^2+1(3^x)+56=0$ This is quadratic in $\displaystyle 3^x$ so let $\displaystyle u=3^x$... Good luck
I think there may be a typo otherwise it will not have any solutions. Maybe $\displaystyle 3^x+1-56(3^{-x})=0$ If this is the case use the same hint.
