    Question variable in the exponent

    2 to the power of y+1 = 3 x (5 to the power of y)
    Find y
I got as far as 2 to the power of y+1 is equal to 2 x (2 to the power of y)
But i can't figure out how to get to y since the bases ( here 2 and 5) are different.
    help?
