    in town of 25000 inhabitants, 80% are over 18 years of ages

    In a town of 25000 inhabitants, 80% are over 18 years of age

    How many of the inhabitants are over the age of 18?

    Of these 37.5% usually shop in the town's supermarket

    How many are over 18's shop in the supermarket?

    7240 people over 18 living in the town journey to a hypermarket toxshop regularly

    What percentage of people over the age of 18 regularly shop in the hypermarket?

    No... Multiply it by 0.8, because it's more like 80% instead of 18%

    37.5% of 20 000 = 7500

    divide 7240 by 20000 i get = 0.362 is that right?

    in town of 25000 inhabitants, 80% are over 18 years of ages

    The question is divided into three sections.

    1)number of inhabitants aboce 18 = 25000*0.8=20,000 inhabitants are above 18.


    2)number of inhabitants above 18 usually shops in town super market
    = 20000*0.375
    = 7500

    3)7240 people over 18 living in the town journey to a hypermarket toxshop regularly

    percentage of people over the age of 18 regularly shop in the hypermarket
    = (7240/20000)*100
    = 36.2 percent
