How does one convert 5.2865 and 8.7134 hours into times of day, to the nearest minute?

I would multiply the decimal part of these numbers by 3/5.

So 5.2865 = 5: (3/5) x 0.2865 = 5:17 or 5 hours and 17 minutes.
