$(f/g)(x)$ is just a notational shorthand for $\frac{f(x)}{g(x)}.$

Can you evaluate $f(3)?$ Then can you evaluate $g(3)?$ $(f/g)(3)$ is then

$\frac{f(3)}{g(3)}.$

As the previous reply quite-correctly pointed out, "f/g" means "f divided by g". Similarly, "f*g" means "f times g", "f + g" means "f plus g", "f - g" means "f minus g", "f^2" means "f squared", and so forth.
