I'm having major problems trying to evaluate this:
If 2x -3 =7, evaluate 3x + 4.

Ok first thing you need to do is solve for xOriginally Posted by jodiet50
1) move the -3 to the other side of the equation:
2x = 7 +3 => 2x =10
2) Solve for x by dividing both sides of the equation by 2
x = 5
Now tha you know that x=5 you can plug it into the second equation:
3x+4 => 3(5) +4 => 15 +4 => 19
Hope this helps
