This is not an equation the "x" means times here. Note the question is in basic math section, so it does not yet involve algebra.
-----
First do the parantheses,
$\displaystyle 3^4-5\times (10)$
Now do exponents,
$\displaystyle 81-5\times 10$
Now do multiplication,
$\displaystyle 81-50$
Now you can substract,
$\displaystyle 41$

(Note I would like to mention, "order of operations" is not a theorem, it is simply used as a definition. In order to avoid ambiguity).

Well if breanna007 had only wrote something like "evaluate" or "solve for x" or anything I would know.
