Can anyone help me solve these functions as I don't really know where to start with them. Thanks.

if $2^6 = 64$ , then $\log_2(64)$ = ?

following that same idea ...

$2^{-4} = \frac{1}{16}$

Logarithm can be defined as the inverse to the exponential function:
$log_b(b^x)= x$.
$64= 2^6$ and $1/16= 2^{-4}$.
