    It's an expression, right?

    3x+5 is an expression, right? Not an equation or an inequality.

    You are absolutely correct. There is no equal sign nor inequality sign present.

    just some information. An expression must contain a variable. An equation is not required to.

    Actually, an arithmetic expression does not contain variables.

    2+3 is an arithmetic expression.
