    Im stuck.....

    1. To calculate a 15% tip on a $24.00 bill a customer adds $2.40 and half of $2.40 or $1.20 to get $3.60. Is his procedure valid? Why or why not?

    2. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is it always best to convert from fraction notation to percent notation by first finding decicimal notation? Why or why not?

    $2.40 is 10%

Half of 2.40 is half of 10%, which is 5%

    So 10% + 5% = 15%

    So his procedure is valid.

I answered your other question in the other thread you posted it on.
