    Polynomial Help

Find k if the remainder obtained when dividing the polynomial p(x) by (x-1) is 7.

    p(x) = 2x^5 + (k^2 + 1)x^4 - k(x)^3 + 2(x)^2 - 2x + 3

the bold statement tells you that p(1) = 7

    sub in 1 for x and 7 for p(x) , then solve for k.
