How can I find the percentage of a percent?
Say I have 3 numbers: 274,200, 783,200 and 78,250. Now each of those are going to be a percentage of 17%. How do I find out what the percentage of each number would be of 17%. Sorry if my question is completely confusing. My brain is pretty fried from trying to figure this out.

Scientia
You're asking, "17 percent of x is 274,000".

$\displaystyle .17x = y | y = 274,000, 783,200, 78,250$

Solve for x.

$\displaystyle x = \frac{274000}{.17}$

If you mean "each of those is 17% of what number?", then it is what what Scientia said, that number divided by 0.17.

However if you mean "what is 17% of each number?", then it is that number multiplied by 0.17.
