    confusing equation

    Hi, new to this forum so I hope this isnt in the wrong place!

    Could someone explain to me what this equation is? I have the values for p, t, L and E and I need to work out what f is, but is f not 1.03 anyway? I dont understand the actual equation. Dont need an answer just help in understanding the question.

    It's basically f = 1.03 * \sqrt\frac{E}{\rho} * \frac{t}{L^2}
