    Question multiplication of negatives

    wot happens when you multiply with a negative number?eg 4x-7=?

    We have a convention that:

    1) the product of a negative and a negative is positive

    and

    2) the product of a positive and negative is negative.

    These conventions allow arithmetic to be extended consistently to
    cover multiplication and division of negative numbers.

    In this case:

    <br />
4 \times -7 = - 28<br />
