quick one regarding period/wavelength
Hi I have done the following calculation for
1)For a sound wave that has a wavelength of 5 metres, what is the frequency of the sound? (Use 340m/sec as the speed of sound
and
2) For a frequency of 20Hz, what is the period ( T ) of the wave in seconds or milliseconds, and what is the wavelength in metres?
I have ....
1C) i.
If (V = W * F) then (F= V/W)
So...
(F=V/W) > plugin values for wavelength and velocity > (F = 340/5)
F = 68Hz
1C)ii.
Period (t) = (1/frequency) So... t = (1/20)
t = 0.05 seconds
Wavelength = (V/f) V= speed of sound (340 m/s)
Wavelenght = (340 * 20)
Wavelength = 6800
Am I correct??
