    logarithm problem

    I can't figure out how to solve this for x

    13 + log2 x^(-3) = -22

    this apparently simplifies to x = 2^(35/3)

    could somebody please tell me how to solve this one?

    thankyou

    Is the equation  13 + log(2) x^{-3}=-22 or  13 + log(2x^{-3})=-22 ?

    Hi maths_cat,

    Just use a few simple log rules to get:

    13+\log_2 x^{-3}=-22

    -3\log_2 x=-35

    \log_2 x=\frac{35}{3}

    x = 2^{\frac{35}{3}}
