1. ## logarithm problem

I can't figure out how to solve this for x

13 + log2 x^(-3) = -22

this apparently simplifies to x = 2^(35/3)

could somebody please tell me how to solve this one?

thankyou

2. Is the equation $13 + log(2) x^{-3}=-22$ or $13 + log(2x^{-3})=-22$?

Hi maths_cat,

Just use a few simple log rules to get:

$13+\log_2 x^{-3}=-22$

$-3\log_2 x=-35$

$\log_2 x=\frac{35}{3}$

$x = 2^{\frac{35}{3}}$

4. thanks for the help guys!
