    Simplify the following complex rational expressions

    1)  \frac {1/x-1/y}{1/x+1/y}

    Attempt:

    \frac{y-x}{y+x}

    Can we cancell the y since both are positive

     \frac {-x}{+x}

    Is this correct please write in steps if not

    stop here ... the manipulation you did below is incorrect. you cannot cancel the "y's".

    Can we cancell the y since both are positive

     \frac {-x}{+x}
