Ps I need to show the work
Lets say Cindy has x$ in the beginning
Now the equation that we can form with this is
$\displaystyle
x = \frac{x}{4}+\frac{x}{8} + 25
$
Hence
$\displaystyle
x= \frac{2x+x}{8} + 25
$
$\displaystyle
x - \frac{3x}{8} = 25
$
$\displaystyle \frac{5x}{8} = 25 $
Hence
$\displaystyle x= \frac{200}{5} = 40$
Thus starting amount is 40$
Please show the work to your daughter and ask if she still has troubles
Best of Luck
Adarsh
