Need help setting up this problem

A large feed lot uses two feed supplements, Ration I and Ration II. Each pound of Ration I contains 4 units of protein and 2 units of carbohydrates. Each pound of Ration II contains 3 units of protein and 6 units of carbohydrates. If the dietary requirement calls for 42 units of protein and 30 units of carbohydrates, how many pounds of each ration should be used to satisfy the requirements?

    Thanks in advance!!

Lets say the lot uses x of Ration I and y pounds of Ration II

So total amount of protein = 4x+3y

And total amunt of carbohydrates = 2x+6y

    Thus according to question

    4x+3y = 42.....................(1st)equation

    and

    2x+6y= 30......................(2nd)equation

You have 2 equations two unknown

    Now solve it
    -----------------------------------------------------------

    answer is x=9 and y=2
