My daughter (year 10) has come home wanting help with SURD's - she needs to simply 3 x sqrt 6 x sqrt 2

I have never heard of a FURD and can't find a descritption - can anyone help please?

First of all it seems you want to say Surd

Read this A-level Mathematics/OCR/C1/Indices and Surds - Wikibooks, collection of open-content textbooks

$ 3\times \sqrt{6} \times \sqrt{2} $

$ =3 \times \sqrt{2\times 3} \times \sqrt{2} $

$ =6\times \sqrt{3} $

If you wondering how to get from there to

$ =6 \times \sqrt{3} $

$ \sqrt{2}\times \sqrt{2} = 2 $

Therefore we get:

$ =3 \times 2\sqrt{3} $

$ =6\sqrt{3} $
