[SOLVED] Mixing three brands of coffee to get a required cost/kg of the final mix
Kelly blends coffee. She mixes brand A costing \$6 per kilogram with brand B costing \$8 per kilogram. How many kilograms of each brand does she have to mix to amke 50 kg of coffee costing her \$7.20 per kg?

Let say she mixes xkg of coffeeA
its cost = \$6x
So 50-x kg of coffee is mixed
its cost = \$(50-x)8

Cost of 50 kg of coffee =50*7.2 =\$360

hence

6x+(50-x)8 = 360

6x-8x= 360-400
2x=40
x= 20kg = amount of coffee A
50-x=30kg = amount of coffee B
