    Mixed Factors

I dont know how to do mixed factors what so ever, there is only one example in my text book but I dont know how to do the others.

    These are some problems:

    3p^2 - 3p - 36=

    4a^3b + 8a^2b^2 - 2ab^2 =

I assume that you want to factorise them .

    (1) 4a^3b+8a^2b^2-2ab^2

     =2ab(2a^2+4ab-b)

    (2) 3p^2-3p-36

     =3(p^2-p-12)

     =3(p-4)(p+3)

= 3(p^2+3p-4p-12)<br />

    = 3 x(px(p+3) - 4x(p+3))

    =3x(p-4)x(p+3)

    Check this one again

    4a^3b + 8a^2b^2 - 2ab^2

because it stops where Mathaddict did it
