    4 Quick Problems

    1)A manufacturer of household items has total revenue given by the function R = 14.5x and has total cost given by C = 12x+300, where x is the number of items produced and sold. Use graphical methods to find the number of units that gives break even for the product.

    2) A certain product has supply and demand functions given by p=40q +200 and p=9200 - 50q.
    a. If the price p is $3200, how many units q are supplied and how many are demanded?
    b. What price gives market equilibrium, and how many units are demanded and supplied at this price?

    3) The equation y=12.7x+8.9 estimates the amount that businesses will spend, in billions of what dollars, on a certain business technology, where x is the number of years after 2000. For what years will the spending be more than $47 billion?

    4) A company is planning to make a new kind of radio. The cost to produce x radios is C=95,000+18x. Meanwhile, the revenue earned by selling x radios is given by R=27x. If R < C, the company loses money. At what level of production does this happen?
    EITHER --- A- 10556 or less
    B- less than 10556
    C- 10556 or more
    D - more than 10556
