Is this done with the quadratic formula as well?

2. 0=X^2 - 5ROOT(2)X + 2

1: Yeah, the first one is a simple quadratic equation. You can try to factor it but it's the same as finding the roots... If you happen to get a quadratic with disgusting numbers what will you do? Try to use the quadratic formula!

2: $\displaystyle 0=x^2-(5\sqrt{2})x+2$ is this the equation? If so use the quadratic formula!
