How did you simplify the letters in this equation ,did you do a^3/3 and got a^1 as the product and did you do b^6/3 and got 2 or did you cube root 3 and got 1 and cube rooted 6 and got 2?

Hi mj,

This question sounds like it's part of another post somewhere, but I'll try to answer it for you. And I think you meant to say "rational exponents" instead of "radical exponents".

$\sqrt[3]{-27a^3b^6}=(-3^3)^{\frac{1}{3}}(a^3)^{\frac{1}{3}}(b^6)^{\frac{ 1}{3}}=(-3^{\frac{3}{3}})(a^{\frac{3}{3}})(b^{\frac{6}{3}}) =-3ab^2$
