    help 2

    a car has a 16 gallon gas tank. on a long highway trip, gas is used at rate of about 2 gallons per hour. the gallons of gas g in the car's tank can be modeled by the equation g = 16 - 2t where t is the time . identify the domain and range of the function then graph the function.

    Hi,

    the domain contains all values of the traveltime t. Because time never can be negative (there are a few exceptions which will be explained to you by the SciFi-section), therefore t must be greater or equal than zero. The traveltime ends abruptly when the gas tank is empty. Thus:
    t\in [0, 8]

    The range contains all values of g. The tank is full if 16 gallons had been filled in and it is empty if there are 0 gallons in the tank. Thus:
    g \in [0,16]
