    Please help... quotients....

    one of two numbers is 4. the quotient of the two numbers is also 4. what is the other number? explain.

    my daughter thinks the answer is 4.... because all the rest is 4

    i'm lost!!!!! she's 4th grade... came home sick and missed the explanation of all this stuff.... it's been ummmm ummmm'p-teen years!!!!!

    The quotient of 16 and 4 is 4, because, \frac {16}{4} = 4, so, other number is 16.

    The quotient of 4 and 1 is 4, because, \frac {4}{1} = 4, so, other number is 1.

    so, other number is either 16 or 1.
