(2x*3x)+5x-4=0 using factorisation
(6x*x)=8x-4=0

find the equation of the straight line which passes through the points (0,-1) and (1/2,0)
and determine the coordinates of the point where this line intersects the line which has the equation y=-2x+2

two machines a and b can be used to manufacture a certain product.the cost function for each machine is given by:
machine a:y=10x+20
machine b:y=5xsquared-15x+40

where y =cost of producing x items(\$*10 to the third power)
(a)construct a suitable table of values and use it to plotthe two cost functions on the same graph for values of x between o and 5 at intervals of 1 unit
(b) use the graph t determine the range of productions for which products are produces most cheaply by each machine.show these on the graph and state the values

(c)find the difference in the cost of producing 2500items between each machine and show this on the graph and states its value

2. ## question 2 only

Hi,

I don't understand this one. Are you certain that you worded this problem corectly?

Hi,

use the Two-Point-Formula:

$\frac{y+1}{x-0}=\frac{0+1}{\frac{1}{2}-0}$. You'll get:

y = 2x-1. The 2nd equation is
y = -2x+2. Add both equations vertically:

2y = 1 so y = 1/2. Plug in this value into one of the equations and solve for x. x = 3/4.
