Thread: Transpose forumla.

I don't know if this is the correct topic but i#m new here so sorry if this isn't supposed to be posted here.

So anyways iv'e been stuck on these two questions for a while now so hopefully you lot can help me out here because I really need it.

Question 1

Te^2 = M^2 + T^2 <--- Make M the subject. I would be able to
do this one but because the numbers
are squared it's confused me.

Question 2

K = sq root ((a^2 + b^2)/12) <----- Make a the subect.

Please help I need it! It would also help if you showed me your working to help me with these problems in the future.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'transpose'. Are T and M just normal algebraic variables? Or are they matrices?

That's a quadratic equation so you could use the quadratic formula. If, as Mush suggested, these are intended to be matrices, you can still use the quadratic formula although taking the square root of a matrix is a bit complicated.

Question 2

Square both sides to get rid of the square root: . Now so .
