    Red face Arithmetic problem

    Creechan's cash 'n' carry are doing a special offer on chocolate biscuits.

    They are offering 10% extra free on special packets.
    The weight of the special packets is 440g.

    What was the weight of the original packets?

    Need working for 3 marks.

    440 = 1w + 0.1w

    440 = w(1+0.1)

    440 = w(1.1)

    w = 440/1.1
