    Re-arranging...

    If i have:

    C= 600 + 12N

    and i want to make N the subject, is this correct:

    C - 600 = 12N

    then

    600 - C
    -------
    12

    Would this be correct?

    N = \frac{C-600}{12}

    You could also write that as
    N= \frac{C}{12}- 50
